The World Banana Forum’s Steering Committee (SC), led by a group of representatives from governments, producer organizations, exporters, multinational and national trading companies, trade unions, retailers, intergovernmental organizations, research institutions and non-governmental organizations, will hold its 25^th meeting in person in FAO HQ. The SC will discuss the current challenges faced by the sector, highlighting the decline in banana exports and increase in energy, input and transportation costs, which have resulted in greater pressure on actors in the sector.
