FAO, IFAD, and WFP launch the new edition of the annual The State of Food Insecurity in the World (SOFI) report. The 2014 edition presents new estimates on the number and proportion of chronically undernourished people in the world and also reports on progress towards the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) and World Food Summit (WFS) hunger targets. The report also examines seven case studies (Bolivia, Brazil, Haiti, Indonesia, Madagascar, Malawi, Yemen) that highlight diverse experiences in creating an enabling environment to improve impact on hunger and malnutrition.
