Launch of the Global Report on Food Crises 2020
Rome time
The overall purpose of this year’s event is to launch the 2020 Global Report on Food Crises in order to share the latest evidence on the levels of acute food insecurity and malnutrition and related drivers, trends and dynamics; and promote a collective reflection over the implications and emerging challenges of addressing food crises and contributing to achieve SDG 2.
The event will also represent an opportunity to review and discuss approaches and pathways to prevent food crises as well as enhance rapid response and recovery when a crisis strikes, with a special focus on the role of structural transformation of the food systems in crisis prone contexts.
Ultimately, the event will mark another important milestone in refining commitment of actions and pledges from key stakeholders and partners of the Global Network Against Food Crises, who are expected to agree on a series of high-level messages to be translated into an event communiqué (takeaway messages).
