International Women’s Day 2026: Advancing Access to Justice for Women Farmers

Join us for the event organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and World Food Programme (WFP) to commemorate International Women’s Day, on Thursday, 5 March 2025 at FAO Headquarters and online. 

This event forms part of the global celebrations for the International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026. It will bring together women farmers from diverse regions and sectors to share their experiences and showcase innovative practices. Remarks will be delivered by representatives from the UN Rome-based Agencies and the Government of Sweden; and it will also feature the unveiling of the commemorative Euro coin for the International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026.

As part of the celebrations, FAO will host an exhibition in the Atrium featuring products made by women farmers, along with a food tasting and a live cooking show at the FAO MuNe Food Lab, where renowned chef-farmers will prepare regional Italian dishes.

Interpretation will be available in all official UN languages and Italian.
