She Feeds the World: Women Smallholder Farmers Leading Positive Food Systems Change

Join Heifer International, in partnership with the CGIAR Gender Equality and Inclusion Accelerator and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), for a global virtual event marking the International Year of the Woman Farmer and the significance of enabling women's voices and decision-making in sustainable food production.

The program will elevate the lived experiences, leadership and priorities of women smallholder farmers, while convening stakeholders in dialogue on how policy, financing and partnerships can better align with women farmers’ agendas.

We will be joined by two smallholder farmers from Ecuador and Kenya who will share their stories, followed by a discussion between them and our panel guests. Our moderator is Daphne Ewing-Chow, an award-winning food and agriculture who contributes regularly to Forbes and other publications.

This event formally launches Heifer’s International Year of the Woman Farmer campaign, She Has a Story to Tell, alongside a dedicated digital campaign hub that will anchor global and regional engagement through October 2026.
