Stronger Together: Women Farmers, Sustainable Futures

Montreal (Canada), 26/03/2026

On March 26 (from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM UTC−4), AWE Global will host a high-impact networking cocktail fundraiser bringing together over 100 donors, partners, and community leaders for an evening dedicated to advancing women-led agriculture. Organized in the spirit of the UN’s International Year of Women Farmers 2026, the event will highlight the critical role women farmers play in strengthening food security, increasing climate resilience, and supporting sustainable local economies—particularly in the Global South.

Over the past few years, AWE has expanded its programming to focus on women-led regenerative agriculture, supporting women farmers who are not only cultivating crops, but also driving sustainable agricultural transitions in their communities. Through business training, financial education, and mentorship, AWE equips women with the tools to become entrepreneurs and leaders. During the evening, guests will learn about AWE’s measurable impact and growth over the past year ; discover the organization’s new 2026 program in Malawi, designed to scale regenerative practices and market access for women farmers. The program will feature conference talks by Jennifer Lonergan, Executive Director of AWE, who will address the challenges faced by women farmers in the Global South, and by Marisa Murray, CEO of Leaderley International, who will speak on empowering women and strengthening women’s leadership. This event is not only a celebration of progress, but a call to action. It offers partners and supporters the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a global movement that recognizes women farmers as central actors in sustainable development and climate adaptation.
