This policy document consists of the following sections: 1) vision and guiding principles; 2) strategic objectives and priority actions; 3) implementation plan; 4) monitoring and evaluation. The priority actions at regional level relevant to wood energy include: 1) establishment of a specific regulatory framework for the promotion of clean cooking energy sources as alternatives to wood and charcoal; 2) support the establishment and operationalization of a comprehensive program for the adoption of clean energy sources alternative to wood and charcoal.
