The Renewable Energy Policy aims at ensuring increased use of renewable energy sources for grid electricity supply and for the provision of access to energy services in rural areas. It also aims to assist the ECOWAS Member States to develop appropriate regulatory frameworks for the promotion of renewable energy technologies and services. The policy document consists of the following sections: 1) context; 2) vision; 3) targets; 4) implementation strategy. Improved cookstoves and efficient charcoal production are among the targets.
