This regional strategy aims to provide a guiding framework for creating an enabling environment for accelerating the deployment of modern and improved biomass energy technologies at the ECOWAS region while supporting individual national strategies. It was guided by the ECOWAS Bioenergy Policy and the Africa Bioenergy Policy Framework and Guidelines. This document consists of the following sections: 1) vision and goals; 2) status and challenges; 3) country priorities; 4) key elements of the strategy; 5) investment plan and resource mobilization; 6) implementation strategy; and 7) monitoring and evaluation.
