This Strategy lays out a pathway for Kenya to accelerate the electrification of cooking. It provides a roadmap to support 10% of households to transition to electric cooking (eCooking) by 2028, enabling electricity to become the cooking fuel of choice for Kenyans by 2050. Key strategic interventions include the establishment of a coordinating mechanism for eCooking initiatives, capacity building programs and R&D on emerging technologies. It also elaborates market development activities that lower barriers for households to adopt eCooking. The action plan includes identification of key activities, establishment of a robust monitoring and evaluation framework, mobilization of resources, and engagement of stakeholders.
