The Rural Development Centre (RUDEC) of Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development (IPSARD), and Partner of the WAW Initiative organized a workshop on 18 June, chaired by Mr Vu Trong Binh (Vice-Director of IPSARD). The theme of the worshop was : Pilot of International Typology of Agricultural Holdings Involved in Livestock Production in Vietnam.

In the welcome speech, the Chair state the objective of the workshop:

•introduce the International Typology of Agricultural Holdings to policy makers, experts;

•grasp state’s agencies’ needs on farm categorization;

•consult with policy makers, experts about the methodology and indicators for farm typology at the international level and in Vietnam.

Workshop participants were representatives from FAO Ha Noi, Management agencies of the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), the General Statistics Office and Universities, research institutes relating to agriculture and rural households.
