Webinar on fostering women's employment opportunities through empowerment

The Task Force on Gender Equity (GE-TF) will be holding its first in a series of three webinars this year on 13 April 2021, from 16:00 - 18:00 CEST. The webinar will focus on fostering women's employment opportunities through empowerment. 

The event aims to increase awareness among industry stakeholders on the challenges and opportunities for women's employment and empowerment, learning from good practices across various sectors and regions.

WEBINAR: Fostering women's employment opportunities through empowerment - challenges and opportunities in the banana industry

The webinar will be conducted as a guided interview with each panellist in four rounds. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions after each round.

16:00 – 16:05: Welcome by the WBF Secretariat, Camila Reinhardt Hurtado

16:05 – 16:10: Introduction by the Chairperson, Marcelo Crescenti, Fairtrade Deutschland

16:10 – 16:35: Presentation of the panelists: A brief description of their activities and role in
supporting women’s employment and empowerment efforts.

16:35 – 17:55: Panel Interview
  • What are the key barriers for enabling women`s employment and empowerment, and how have they been addressed to ensure the success of the initiative?
  • How has the initiative ensured the continuous process of empowerment and professional/personal growth for women workers and farmers?
  • What are the benefits of collaboration between industry stakeholders to support women’s employment and empowerment processes?

17:55 - 18:00: Conclusions and final remarks
