The objective of this webinar is to lay the groundwork for fruitful dialogue on shared responsibility.Particular attention will be paid to a more economically sustainable model or contract of business as well as to the importance of European Union Due Diligence legislation.It is organized by the Regional Commission of Latin America and the Caribbean of the World Banana Forum (WBF) for Sustainable Bananasand will address the specific problems faced by the banana industry in the region.
The purpose of the event is to bring together key players in the region's banana industry and to provide important insights into the realities of the industry's value chains, especially considering the extraordinary circumstances of the past year. Steadily rising production and transportation costs have coincided with the loss of the important export markets to Russia and Ukraine.
The requirements and subsequent responsibilities of the producers, buyers, retailers and certifiers will be discussed in order to define a joint agenda on shared responsibility and due diligence.
