AGROCALIDAD WEBINAR: “Foc TR4: Every Decision Counts”

On 8 and 9 January 2026, the Agency for Phytosanitary and Zoosanitary Regulation and Control of Ecuador (Agrocalidad) organized the streaming seminar “Foc TR4: Every Decision Counts”, with the objective of strengthening technical knowledge on the prevention, outbreak management, and control of dispersion risks of Fusarium Tropical Race 4 (Foc TR4).

The event featured the participation of national and international experts from the World Banana Forum, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Association of Banana Exporters of Ecuador, the Colombian Agricultural Research Corporation, the International Center for Tropical Agriculture, the National Institute for Agricultural Research, the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral, Agrovid, and ORISA.

More than 150 participants, including diverse producers, technicians, and stakeholders from the banana sector, actively took part in the seminar, addressing different topics related to Fusarium, including its national and international impact, symptomatology, pathways of dispersion, outbreak management, biosecurity measures, and prevention strategies.

The event contributed to strengthening technical capacities and institutional coordination for the protection of the banana sector and the sustainability of production systems.
