First detected in Asia in 1970, Fusarium TR4 has since spread to other continents and is now reported in several countries. In Asia, the pathogen has been reported in several major banana-producing countries, including China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the Philippines and Viet Nam.
This webinar aims to showcase the experiences of Asian actors with Fusarium TR4. It will offer insights into their experiences, initiatives, and research efforts highlighting their achievements and approaches to manage this significant threat to banana production.
Objectives:
- Share experiences of Asian stakeholders in managing Fusarium TR4 through innovative disease management strategies.
- Share TR4-related research innovations and technologies being developed in Asia.
- Discuss challenges faced by key banana-producing countries in Asia, and actions implemented following TR4 incursions.
- Strengthen global collaboration, connecting Asia’s efforts with the international community to collectively find solutions for the TR4 threat and increase the resilience of banana production systems globally.
