The Global Hope Supporters in Kenya are carrying out activities to celebrate World Food Day 2025, providing support for small-scale fishers and food aid for vulnerable households.
① Support for Small-Scale Fishers with Secondhand Boats and Fishing Equipment
On November 13, in cooperation with the Homabay County Government, the Global Hope Supporters will provide fishing equipment to small-scale fishers at Lake Victoria in Homabay. To assist fishers who are struggling to make a living due to high boat rental costs, one secondhand boat, one motor, and one set of fishing nets will be donated. This initiative aims to support sustainable livelihoods by helping them build a foundation for economic self-reliance.
② Food Donation to 30 Vulnerable Households
On October 23, in cooperation with the Office of the Deputy County Commissioner, Starehe Sub County, the volunteers will deliver food packages to 30 low-income and socially vulnerable households in Nairobi. Each box, prepared with the heart of a mother who cares for her family’s health, contains maize flour, rice, mung beans, sugar, and milk. Volunteers will personally visit each home to deliver the packages and share warmth and encouragement with the families.
The “Hold Hope” campaign aims to support those suffering from food insecurity—including vulnerable groups and small-scale food producers—and move toward a world free from hunger. the campaign is being conducted from September to October 2025 across about 60 countries, sharing the message that “Everyone has the right to adequate, safe, and nutritious food.”
1. Food Aid to Vulnerable Groups
We support low-income families in about 60 countries, including those where the prevalence of severe food insecurity exceeds the global average.
In cooperation with local governments, we provide food boxes designed with balanced nutrition to neighbors in humanitarian crisis situations, raising public awareness of the global food crisis.
2. Support for Small-Scale Food Producers
We offer tailored assistance—such as providing helping hands and essential supplies in farming, fishing, or livestock industries—to local small-scale food producers, contributing to the stabilization of regional food supply systems.
