‘Hold Hope’ Campaign in Celebration of World Food Day - Republic of Korea

경기도 (대한민국), 31/08/2025 - 31/10/2025

In celebration of World Food Day (October 16), the campaign is being conducted from September to October 2025 across about 70 countries, sharing the message that “Everyone has the right to adequate, safe, and nutritious food.” The “Hold Hope” campaign aims to support those suffering from food insecurity—including vulnerable groups and small-scale food producers—and move toward a world free from hunger.

1. Food Aid to Vulnerable Groups We support low-income families in about 60 countries, including those where the prevalence of severe food insecurity exceeds the global average. In cooperation with local governments, we provide food boxes designed with balanced nutrition to neighbors in humanitarian crisis situations, raising public awareness of the global food crisis.

2. Support for Small-Scale Food Producers We offer tailored assistance—such as providing helping hands and essential supplies in farming, fishing, or livestock industries—to local small-scale food producers, contributing to the stabilization of regional food supply systems.

3. Activities in Korea In Korea, we donate food boxes worth approximately USD 185,000 to 5,000 households nationwide in partnership with approximately 240 local government offices. In celebration of Chuseok, one of Korea’s largest traditional holidays, we deliver hope to neighbors in need-including elderly people living alone, single-parent and grandparent-grandchild families, multicultural households, persons with disabilities, and youth-headed families. Each box is filled with the heart of a mother who cares for her family’s health, containing rice, lentils, sugar, cooking oil, and other essential items.

This campaign is part of the Church of God’s six major fields of social contribution, under the category of “Poverty and Hunger Alleviation.” The Global Hope Supporters continue to take the lead in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through diverse initiatives, including climate change response, educational support, and health and well-being promotion.
