The Media Studies Department at Amity University Dubai marked World Food Day with a dynamic, student-led event organized by Journalism and Digital Media students. In line with the World Food Programme’s mission, this year’s theme, “Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future,” encouraged awareness and action for sustainable food systems.
The event featured a poster exhibition, a short documentary, and an interactive quiz on global food issues. A pledge board invited students to commit to more mindful food choices.
Distinguished guests, including Dr. Rafid Alkhaddar, Pro-Vice Chancellor, and Dr. Rajneesh Mishra, Dean of Humanities, highlighted the importance of healthy eating and sustainability. Dr. Seema Sangra, Program Leader, further addressed the global challenges of hunger and obesity, calling for collective responsibility in shaping a healthier, more equitable food future.
