From 3 to 5 February, kicking off #FAO80 celebrations around the world, Qu Dongyu, Director-General of FAO, completed a two-day official visit to Bhutan, accompanied by a high-level delegation including the Director of Cabinet, Godfrey Magwenzi, and Deputy Director of Cabinet, Hua Yang.
FAO’s partnership with Bhutan, which began in the 1980s, has expanded from agricultural development projects to include policy support, capacity building, regional collaboration, and emergency assistance. Over the years, FAO has implemented nearly 100 Technical Cooperation Programmes in Bhutan, contributing to the country’s agricultural development and food security.
