Celebrating 80 years with 80 hectares of forest in Kyrgyzstan

To commemorate FAO’s 80th anniversary and as part of the Green Climate Fund-backed project "Carbon Sequestration through Climate Investments in Forests and Pastures in the Kyrgyz Republic (CS-FOR)," 80 hectares of fruit and forest plantations have been established across four districts in Kyrgyzstan to promote reforestation and sustainable land management. Over the next five years, the project aims to restore 3,440 hectares through the planting of both coniferous and deciduous trees.
