Water is a fundamental need of people, economies, nature and food. Using water sensibly will ensure that food systems are protected. It allows us to produce more food and other essential agricultural commodities with less water, ensuring no-one is left behind.
Organized by FAO and the ITU Department of Food Engineering, within the scope of World Food Day, the “Future of Food Symposium” will address the issues of climate change and water crises, current practices and policies in food loss and waste, sustainability approaches in food retailing, the right to food and food security. The event will feature the participation of universities, public institutions, the private sector and non-governmental organizations.
