The Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM) organized a talk show as part of the “Healthy Living Awareness on Safe Food Movement (Gerakan Masyarakat Hidup Sehat Sadar Pangan Aman/Germas SAPA) 2025”, held in commemoration of World Food Day in October 2025.
BPOM has implemented several community-based food safety initiatives, including the Safe Food Village Program (Desa Pangan Aman), the Community-Based Safe Market Program (Pasar Pangan Aman Berbasis Komunitas), and the Food Safety School Program Empowerment (Sekolah yang Melaksanakan Pembudayaan Keamanan Pangan). These initiatives are integrated under the national umbrella movement Germas SAPA, which aims to promote a healthy lifestyle through food safety awareness and active community participation.
The event, held on 21 October 2025 under the theme “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future,” was conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, and the Ministry of Trade.
As part of the program, BPOM presented awards to the best-performing villages, markets, and schools that have demonstrated outstanding achievements in implementing community-based food safety practices.
