The KICS food drive is an annual school event where we collect food donations from students and faculty for those who are in desperate need. This year, the KICS food drive aimed to relieve those who have been dreadfully affected by this fall’s floods in Sudan.
The initiative began early September, right after a series of particularly heavy rainfalls which devastated many homes near the river. The people were left homeless and their food, carried away by the waters. In order to help the community we live in, and to relieve some of the disastrous effects of poverty, we asked the student body to help us collect as much food as possible, and they delivered!
This year, we observe this activity as part of #WorldFoodDay celebration on the 16th of October, with the theme “Our actions are our future - Better production, better nutrition, a better environment and a better life.”
