“The earth rewards the peasant's toil” - celebrating key milestones in the development of Kyrgyzstan’s agricultural sector

In commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the National historical museum of the Kyrgyz Republic is hosting a unique photo exhibition entitled “The Earth Rewards the Peasant's Toil.” The exhibition features around 40 historical and contemporary photographs capturing key milestones in the development of Kyrgyzstan’s agricultural sector. This collaborative project between FAO Representation in Kyrgyzstan and the National historical museum showcases rare archival images documenting the evolution of agriculture from traditional farming and livestock practices to modern technological advancements. On 25 April, the opening ceremony was led by Dr. Qu Dongyu, the FAO Director-General, who emphasized the importance of preserving agricultural heritage and ensuring the sector's sustainable development.
