FAO Director-General QU Dongyu delivered speech during a reception hosted by Karbala Governor Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi on the occasion of the Director-General's visit to the governorate.
The visit comes as FAO celebrates 80 years of action and to celebrate the continued implementation of many projects with partners across the country, such as introducing solar-powered irrigation, rehabilitating land, and empowering communities – especially women and youth – to become leaders of climate-smart agriculture.
