RUN FOR INDONESIAN LOCAL FOOD Run For Indonesian Local Food is a hybrid running event taking place from October 16th to 31st, 2025, organized to celebrate World Food Day (#WorldFoodDay2025). The core theme of this event challenges participants to run a distance of 1K to 10K while actively discovering Indonesian local food within their vicinity. Hybrid Format Details This event is structured in a Hybrid format, combining Virtual and In-Person participation: 1. Virtual Run (Global Participation) Who Can Join: Open to anyone globally who wants to celebrate this special day in support of Indonesian Local Food. This includes Diaspora communities.
How to Participate: Runners must track their activity and join the official Strava Club: Run For Indonesian Local Food for verification and tracking.
Challenge: Complete the 1K to 10K distance, focusing the run around local markets, farms, or areas where local food can be found. 2. In-Person Run (Local Gathering)
Date & Time: Starts at 5:00 AM (Date to be confirmed within the event period).
Meeting Point: The run will start from the Secretariat of the Center for Study Indonesian Food Anthropology. Route: The initial route concludes at Pasar Gunung Kalong (Gunung Kalong Market). Details regarding subsequent routes will be shared with participants who contact Repa ([email protected]) or via the dedicated WhatsApp Group after form submission.
Social Impact & Prizes This event is more than just a run; it's a commitment to food sustainability: Community Project: The event supports the cultivation of forest food commodities located at the Gastro Forestry Project Area. Prizes: The top 3 Leaderboard finishers will receive prizes related to the food system, provided by the Organizer/Project Lead.
