According to reports, nearly one-third of all food produced worldwide is discarded or wasted for various reasons. That equates to almost 1.3 billion tons every year. To spread awareness and galvanize action for this issue, the Dawoodi Bohras of Dubai partnered with UAE Food Bank, Dubai Municipality, to host a ‘Zero Food Waste’ programme for students of MSB School at Al Nahda. The programme was organised under the banner of 'Project Rise' as part of World Food Day 2022 initiatives by the Bohra community across the UAE region. Speakers engaged with youngsters to emphasise the importance of food and shared tips for eliminating food waste throughout the value chain.
