Rome (Italy), 16/10/2025
On 16 October 2025, for FAO’s 80th anniversary and World Food Day, step into a journey as the doors of the Food and Agriculture Museum and Network (FAO MuNe) open at FAO headquarters in Rome. It will be a permanent educational experience dedicated to food and agriculture, our connection to it, and FAO’s mandate. From the story of food and agriculture to the sustainable future we’re building together, this educational experience blends culinary traditions, heritage, science, and innovation to inspire change.
Supported by Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, FAO MuNe will be a hub for students, families, and international visitors, both in-person and online. This initiative builds on educational projects realized by FAO in recent years with support of the Host Country and Members. As a legacy of FAO’s 80th anniversary, it aims to reflect the Organization’s ongoing commitment to creating a sustainable food future for all.
True to its name, this initiative is both a museum and a network. As a museum, it will showcase the significance of global agrifood systems, culinary traditions, scientific and innovative advancements and the roles of women, youth, and Indigenous Peoples in building a sustainable food future through Better Production, Better Nutrition, a Better Environment and a Better Life. As a network, it will serve as a global hub for collaboration, dialogue, and partnerships among FAO Members and stakeholders, broadening the initiative’s reach from local and national to international levels.
Inform, Immerse, Act—FAO MuNe will be an experience that educates and inspires.
