The World Food Day global ceremony marked FAO’s 80th anniversary on 16 October at FAO headquarters. With this year's theme, "Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future," FAO reaffirmed its enduring mission to end hunger and build resilient agrifood systems across the globe.
On 16 October in the afternoon, the World Food Day talks “FoodS FutureS: Conversations for a Better World” spotlighted the future of food and agriculture through the lens of FAO’s Four Betters. This fast-paced, Davos-style global talk series featured a dynamic mix of FAO’s Core Leaders with chefs, activists, policymakers, influencers and thought leaders - bridging grassroots ideas and global action.
On 17 October, nearly 1,000 students joined an unforgettable celebration of food, sport, and creativity with celebrity chef Alessandro Borghese, actress Monique Coleman, players from the Italian Rugby Federation, and a line-up of youth activists, influencers and innovators.
