The opening ceremony was held on 22 April at the Leningradskaya Hotel, Moscow. The programme for the Seminar/Study Tour consisted of lectures and tours of observation to selected fishery stations and laboratories concerned with work on genetics and hybridization. The lectures are listed in Appendix I.
Places visited included fishery centres in the cities of Moscow and Leningrad within the whole Soviet Federal Socialist Republic, and in Kiev and other areas in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. The greater part of the Seminar was held in Kiev.
The closing ceremony was organized at the VNIRO Office in Moscow on 25 May 1968.
