8.1. REGIONAL COOPERATION

Botswana is a member of SADC and is an active member of this organisation. Through this membership or by virtue of her location in the Southern African region, Botswana has links and cooperation with the following SADC agencies and projects:

- Forestry Sector Technical Coordination Unit;
- Tree Seed Centre Network;
- Southern African Regional Commission for the Conservation and Utilisation of the Soil;
- Southern African Botanical Diversity Network;
- Service for Environmental Conservation of Biodiversity and Sustainable Development;
- SADC Regional Gene Bank.

8.2. INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

Various institutions from government and NGO sectors have forged links and cooperation with international agencies that have an interest in environmental conservation and management. The list of these agencies is not exhaustive and below are just some of the most common and prominent in the country:

- Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA);
- Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA);
- Norwegian Development Agency (NORAD);
- European Union/Community (EU/C);
- Danish Cooperation for Environment and Development (DANCED);
