FLUEGGEA FLEXUOSA (Muell. Arg.)

We have recently received information on Flueggea flexuosa (Muell. Arg.) from E.H. Nile, Research Section, Forestry Division, Department of Agriculture, Forests and Fisheries, Apia, Western Samoa.
Flueggea flexuosa (family Euphorbiaceae) is a small to medium sized tree attaining heights from ten to more than twenty meters; and thriving in the humid tropics, preferably below 500 m. a.s.l.
Flueggea flexuosa is native to Melanesia in the South Pacific. The wood is dense, and it is regarded as a potentially good species for sawn timber and poles.
