80. The Committee was informed of two meetings which were recently held on the fisheries of the Black Sea. These meetings were the "Workshop on Responsible Fisheries in the Black Sea and Azov Sea" and "Evaluation of Demersal Resources". Both meetings were held in Sile Istanbul, Turkey, 15-17 April 2003. The meetings were organized by the Black Sea Ecoystem Recovery Project (BSERP). It was stressed that the meetings were not in the framework of SAC nor had they been approved by the Commission. However, participation at these meetings and the subsequent reporting was to elicit the interest of countries bordering the Black Sea in the activities of the GFCM. The Committee did not comment on the report.
81. The Committee noted that while Members of GFCM bordering the Black Sea attended sessions of the Commission, participation of such Members in the activities of SAC was low.
