The workshop brought together participants from the Departments of Forestry and Forest Research Institutions in Ethiopia, Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa and Canada, the International Centre for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF) Kenya, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Institute of Biological Control (IIBC), the International Mycological Institute (IMI), and the University of the Orange Free State, South Africa.
The workshop was moderated by Mr. Stanley Mbagathi with the assistance of Mr. Njoroge Kimani both of GS Consult, Nairobi.
Using visualization cards, participants were asked to give the following information about themselves:
· Their names
· The institutions they represented
· Their designations
· Their main activity in those institutions and
· What they expected from this workshop
