IVORY COAST LEGISLATION
Licences may be issued to foreigners for fishing in maritime zone under national jurisdiction only if a fishing convention exists between their country and Ivory Cost.

  LEGISLATION
Ivory Coast fishing vessel
is defined as a fishing vessel at least half owned by local nationals or by people who are recognized by reciprocal agreement to be equivalent to nationals.
-Where vessel belongs to a company, head office must be in Ivory Coast, the chairman of the Board, the General Manager and a majority of the members of the Board must be local nationals or the equivalent, and at least 50% of share capital must be held by local nationals or the equivalent.

AGREEMENTS
Agreement between Ivory Coast and Senegal of 11 June 1979
Both Governments grant reciprocal fishing rights for tuna in their EEZs.
-Reciprocal fishing rights for 3 bona fide Liberian and Ivory Coast fishing vessels (shrimp trawlers, approx. 70 ft., 350 HP, with refrigeration capacity of 25 t.).
-No fees.
-Other provisions on exchange of information, joint studies.
Fisheries Agreement between Ivory Coast and EEC of 1990 with exchange of letter for provisional application of Protocol valid for 1 July 1994 to 30 June 1997
-No fishing within Ivorian waters without licence issued by Ivorian Authorities.
