XIV. SITE OF PERMANENT HEADQUARTERS

The Council has received an interim report from its Committee on the Site of the Permanent Headquarters, setting out the basic requirements of FAO as to office and conference space, housing for the staff, hotel accommodation for the delegations, diplomatic immunities, etc., and giving a summary analysis of the offers made by the various Member Governments to accommodate FAO. The Committee has recommended that the various offers which have been made or may be made by Member Governments should be appraised in the light of the general requirements outlined in the report. The Council requests that the investigations should also include an analysis of communication and liaison facilities.

It is agreed that this report affords a suitable basis for the steps which now have to be taken, in order that adequate information may be placed before the next session of the Council on the facilities available at various sites in the light of the requirements of FAO.
