    The fourth meeting of the ABNJ Deep Seas Project Steering Committee (PSC4) was held in Saint-Denis, Reunion from 23–25 January 2019, with the cooperation of the SIOFA Secretariat. The meeting was attended by representatives of eight project partners, including six regional bodies. The list of participants is attached as Appendix 1. The primary objectives of the PSC were to review the Project’s progress, to agree on actions and activities to be undertaken prior to the project’s closure and to discuss preparations for a new phase of the project. FAO and WCMC briefed the PSC on activities that are underway (e.g. review of area based planning tools, legal step-wise training) and on upcoming activities (e.g. rights based management workshop, global deep sea meeting). FAO and WCMC also briefed the PSC on their 2019 work plan and its budgetary implications. The PSC endorsed the 2019 work plan and requested a budget revision to take into account the unplanned activities in 2019 work plan (e.g. VME workshop, rights based management workshop, global deep sea meeting). The PSC took note of the end of project closure requirements and preparations that were being made for a subsequent phase of the ABNJ deep sea project.

    The Third Third Annual Project Steering Committee Meeting of the GEG/FAO Climate Change Adaptation in the Eastern Caribbean Fisheries Sector Project (CC4FISH) was held at UN House, Bridgetown, Barbados, 16–17 April 2019. The meeting brought together 24 representatives from the project countries, partner organizations and other key stakeholders involved in the delivery of the project to highlight the progress made to date by each partner. Project countries and partners presented a review of their activities carried out during 2018 and their annual workplans and budgets for 2019. The discussions included the need and road to ensure a timely delivery of the project outcomes. In addition there were discussions on lessons learned and opportunities for further development of the project to ensure increased resilience and reduction of vulnerability to climate change impacts in the Eastern Caribbean fisheries sector. The main topics discussed during the workshop included capacity building, sargassum impacts, aquaculture development, fisheries management plans, vulnerability assessments and communication.

This document presents the fil report of the Seventy-third Session of the Executive Committee of the Asia-Pacific Fishery Commission (APFIC) which was held in Nha Trang, Viet Nam, from 23 to 25 August 2011. The APFIC Executive Committee’s main function is to direct the conduct of business and affai rs of the Commission between its biennial sessions and provide advice to the Secretariat. The APFIC Executive Committee at its Seventy-third session is composed of Viet Nam (Chairperson), India (Vice-Chairperson), Bangladesh and USA (Members), Republic of Korea (the former Chairperson) and the Secretary of the Commission (as an Ex-officio member). The agenda items discussed at the meeting were:  Inter-sessiol activities of APFIC Outcomes of the Third APFIC Regiol Consultative Forum Meeting (RCFM ) and recommendations of the Thirty-first Session Intertiol fishery developments and recommendations of the FAO Committee on Fisheries (COFI) Review of key areas for attention by APFIC and partner organizations Updating the APFIC strategic plan 2012-2018 Improving the effectiveness of APFIC’s role in the region APFIC budget APFIC ongoing workplan and preparations for the Fourth RCFM and arrangements for the Thirty-second Session of APFIC Date and place of the Seventy-fourth session of APFIC Exec utive Committee The Executive Committee endorsed a number of recommendations relating to the direction of APFIC and how to strengthen its function. In addition, the Executive committee noted several key areas for attention under the forthcoming workplan. The Executive Committee also advised on the preparations for the Fourth Regiol Consultative Forum Meeting and the Thirty-second Session of APFIC to be held in Da Nang, Viet Nam, in 2012.
