The Caribbean strengthens its commitment to Codex

The Government of Suriname hosted the Conference of the Caribbean Food Safety Task Force 10–12 September 2024, where more than one hundred participants from across the food chain in the region, including policymakers, international technical experts, Codex Contact Points, members of the Caribbean Food Safety Task Force, and representatives from the food industry, gathered in the country’s capital, Paramaribo. Another Milestone for Mauritius

Last year, with the support of the Codex Trust Fund, Mauritius developed a National Codex Manual, a Standard Operating Procedure for a transparent standard-setting procedure and also organized an extensive training programme on the Codex process in which a mock Codex session was also facilitated. CTF/ Nationwide seminars in Kazakhstan spread awareness on a range of issues

An intercountry workshop on “Enhancing Participation for Codex Activities” is taking place from 24–28 June 2024 in Mumbai, India, for government officials from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Timor-Leste. National Codex Committee of Cabo Verde analyses progress

The National Codex Committee (CNCA) in Cabo Verde has been active in recent weeks, planning the year’s activities and unveiling the CNCA website. New videos demonstrate the impacts of the Codex Trust Fund

The Codex Trust Fund (CTF) supports low- and middle-income countries to participate more effectively in the work of Codex. Codex Trust Fund / Conference concludes successful project in Kazakhstan

The conference “Codex Alimentarius. Results, lessons learned, successes” concluded a project, funded by the Codex Trust Fund (CTF), aimed at establishing an effective National Codex Committee (NCC) in Kazakhstan. The conference, attended by government officials and representatives of international organizations including FAO, WHO and WOAH, provided an update on current and emerging food safety issues in Kazakhstan and discussed joint approaches to improving the safety and quality of life of the population.
