The MGD provides advice to support the development of national forest monitoring systems (NFMS), and associated measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) for REDD+. It focuses on how remotely sensed and ground-based data can be effectively combined to improve estimation of GHG emissions and removals. It is consistent with the GHG inventory guidance of the IPCC and UNFCCC decisions on REDD+. The MGD is provided is three languages; English, French and Spanish.
