Africa Soils 2015

04 Dec 2015 - 31 Jan 2016

Although it is all around us, soil is often the most overlooked natural resource (da Silva, 2013). Even more so, the soils of Africa remain an absolute mystery to most of us. With the ‘Africa in Profile’, soilscapes of the ‘African Continent’ are presented in a nutshell and in a language readily understood by everybody. The multiple roles of soils often go unnoticed. Soils are voiceless. Few people speak out for them. However, they are our silent ally in food production (da Silva, 2014).

The goal of the exhibition therefore is to raise awareness of soil by showing its great services to society in terms of natural, economic and cultural values.
