POPULUS TRICHOCARPA |
Dr. R. Koster, chairman of IUFRO's working party S.2. 02–10 on Poplar Provenances, was able to select, in cooperation with several American and Canadian colleagues, 67 seed sources of Populus trichocarpa during August/September 1972. 34 of the seed sources are in Oregon, 13 in Washington and 20 in British Columbia. The latitudinal range is from approximately 43° to 55½°N. Full details of location and stand condition, together with location maps, are contained in the working party chairman's circular letter No.2, dated 13 February 1973, available from: Dr. R. Koster It was intended to organise seed collection from these seed sources during 1973, with the aim of supplying between 200 and 500 viable seeds per source to each recipient. Seed samples will represent stands; one-tree seed lots will not be available. |
