The Queensland Department of Forestry has asked FAO to assist in disposing of a surplus of Araucaria cunninghamii seed.
It is expected that c. 18,000 Kilograms (40,000 lb) will be available for sale at c. $A3.30 per Kilo ($A 1.50 per lb) plus documentation and freight charges. The seed was collected from plantations and from native stands at a number of centres; a wide range of provenances is available. The lowest germination capacity is estimated to be 35% in 3750–4400 seeds per kilogram (c. 1,700–2,000 per lb).
