The terms of office of the members of the first Panel of Experts on Forest Gene Resources, appointed by the Director-General of FAO in 1968, expired in 1972. A list of members of the first Panel was published in Forest Genetic Resources Information (FAO Forestry Occasional Paper 1973/1, p.30).
The new Panel, appointed for a period of four years (1 January 1973 – 1 January 1977) has the following composition:
