Le huitième Congrès forestier mondial s'est tenu à Djakarta, en Indonésie, du 16 au 28 novembre 1978, à l'aimable invitation du Gouvernement de ce pays. Les comptes rendus de la réunion, et notamment les documents présentés au cours de la Conférence, seront publiés en temps utile.
Une session de la Conférence (point 26 de l'ordre du jour) a été consacrée à la “conservation des ressources génétiques, animales et végétales de la forêt”.
