Policy Planning and Research
· More research is needed to identify the roles, needs, and means to improve the situation of rural women.
· A WID unit should be established in the office of the Prime Minister to develop coordination mechanisms among those working in the area of rural development, especially as related to the family and women.
· WID units should be established at high levels in every department.
· Gender-disaggregated data should be collected.
· A monitoring and evaluation system should be set up for components of rural development programmes and projects dealing with women and the family.
· Links should be established with international organizations in order to benefit from their experiences in the promotion of women in other countries and to request them to strengthen their support in Morocco.
Legal and Policy Reform
· Awareness building efforts are needed to sensitize people about the rights of women.
· Details of ratified international conventions should be incorporated in national legislation to ensure equal wages for women and their participation in all levels of decision-making.
Access to Agricultural Resource and Services
· Efforts should be made to improve women's access to labour-saving household and agricultural technologies, credit, extension services and training.
· Attention should be given to recruiting women extensionists.
