Figure 1 shows the course tracks and the fishing - and hydrographical stations worked. A few trawl stations were made off the Trinidad North Coast to obtain bait for the long line fishing. Work was started north-east of Tobago and proceeded southwards over the relatively broad shelf. Rough corraline bottom prevails over most of this shelf north of the Manzanilla Bank and few bottom trawl hauls could be made in this area. Suitable conditions for bottom trawling on the slope outside 100 m were only encountered around 11° 10’ and south of 10° 10’. Otherwise the bottom over the slope was rough or very steep. High currents and unfavourable wind and sea conditions also made fishing near the shelf edge and on the slope difficult and some times ineffective.

The distance steamed was abt 1 000 nm, and 19 fishing stations and 8 hydrographical stations were worked.
