Survey objectives.
The general objectives of the programme as discussed and agreed at the planning meeting in Trinidad, 12-14 January are summarized in the Preliminary Report of Cruise No. I, Part I. In the following the objectives for Survey III are further clarified and amended on the basis of experience from Survey I and II and from discussions held onboard with representatives from the participating countries. It was further agreed that the survey should not include the area west of Golfo de Morrosquillo and that hydrografic sections off Peninsula de la Guajira, Riohacha and Islas del Rosario should be worked with exception of some of the deepest stations worked in previous surveys.
