The CFS Framework for Action for Food Security and Nutrition in Protracted Crises at CFS 53 in October 2025, also marking the 10th anniversary of the framework’s endorsement. Empowering Family farmers at CFS 54 in October 2026 as a contribution to the objectives of the 2019-2028 UN Decade of Family Farming and to monitor progress on the use and application of a number of relevant CFS policy recommendations: How to Increase Food Security and Smallholder-Sensitive Investments in Agriculture (2011); Investing in Smallholder Agriculture for Food Security and Nutrition (2013); Connecting Smallholders to Markets (2016); Promoting Youth Engagement and Employment in Agriculture and Food Systems for Food Security and Nutrition (2022). In this regard, all CFS stakeholders are invited to contribute to this important CFS monitoring exercise by reading and filling in the template available in all UN languages (right hand column) and return it to the CFS Secretariat at [email protected] by 15 April 2026.

Since 2006, the Committee organized a number of GTEs to take stock of the use and application of the:

• Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT) at CFS 43 in October 2016
• Voluntary Guidelines to Support the Progressive Realization of the Right to Adequate Food in the Context of National Food Security (the Guidelines) at CFS 45 in October 2018
• Framework for Action for Food Security and Nutrition in Protracted Crisis (CFS-FFA) at CFS 47 in October 2020;
• Principles for Responsible Investment in Agriculture and Food Systems (RAI) at CFS 50 in October 2022
• Voluntary Guidelines to Support the Progressive Realization of the Right to Adequate Food in the Context of National Food Security (the Guidelines) at CFS 52 in October 2024 – in occasion on the 20th anniversary of the Right to Food Guidelines.
