Call for Innovations: UN STI Forum 2026

The 11th United Nations Multi-stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation for the Sustainable Development Goals (STI Forum) will take place on 6–7 May 2026 at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The Forum is convened by the President of ECOSOC and organized by the UN Interagency Task Team on STI for the SDGs (IATT), convened by UN-DESA and UNCTAD. It brings together policymakers, experts, and innovators to advance science, technology and innovation for sustainable development.
The Call for Innovations invites breakthrough and scalable solutions from young innovators and early-stage developers worldwide. Submissions should align with the Forum’s 2026 theme:
"Transformative, equitable and coordinated science, technology and innovation for the 2030 Agenda and a sustainable future for all."
Innovations should address one or more of the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
Selected innovations will be showcased at the STI Forum, offering participants:
- Global visibility to policymakers, experts and development organizations
- Opportunities for networking and collaboration
- Knowledge exchange on innovative solutions for sustainable development
