Hello from Ahmad Mahdavi basically from Iran and now in Canada

Hi Manish, I'm responding further to my note on the LLL project in India. http://iaald.blogspot.com/search?q=col One of the keys to success so far seems to have been the facilitating roles played by local NGO's and individuals. These helped to bring the different actors together and provided space for different agendas to surface and be discussed and negotiated. As the story mentions and the project document further show, the various different actors could find their own benefits: the state bank could lend more money the bank achieved higher repayment rates the poor farmers gained credit and incomes and livelihoods and skills and confidence local self-help groups were strengthened the local IT kiosk made some money and found a business model that seems to work the development actors learned ... I understand that the project is continuing, is evolving, is self-sustaining, is generating similar projects elsewhere (also in sri lanka). Cheers Peter
